manual bathing platform difficult to raise

Cruiser 37 2018     The manual bathing platform on my yacht has become progressively stiffer over several months: so much so that I have to winch it to shut completely. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a fix please? I would appreciate an email in case I cannot access the forum. m.gresty@outlook.com
