Anyone know what type of bulb is likely to be in my masthead anchor light on my 2005 Bav39; there are no nav lights on the masthead just the anchor light. I was looking at the dusk to dawn lights here

but see there are 2 different fittings. I am in UK and boat is in Greece at mo and even if I was there not sure how I could get up to check. Will probably have to pay someone to get winched up to change the bulb.

The most common lamp used in anchor lights has a BAY15d lamp base, as per vthe product you illustrated. The lamp has offset pins and two contacts on the bottom, it is used in both AquaSignal and Hella Marine anchor lights together with many lookalike products.

I changed my B37 with LED as illustrated above and no tools needed - lamp cover twists off/on for access. Go on - a five minute job it's not that high  ;D

Hi All, i had the same issue last year and went to the local chandlers in Cobb's quay Poole and asked the owner did he know which type off bulb used on Bavaria's. Don't no mate! But 9/10 the yachts use the same type/bulbs/ fittings on the push pit as the mast head, So on his advice i took the push pit one out, and up the mast i went , success! So you only need go up mast once.

Hope this helps.

Very kind of you to offer but the boat is now based in Corfu. My strapping sons might be out next year, they can earn their keep by going up top.

NASA make a anchor and combined nav light for top mast fitment it only uses the original wire and a reverse polarity switch at the chart table east to fit and works well. Cost about 110 pounds I think
