Hello

I need to remove the old teak on my 2003 Bavaria 44.

Has any 2003 44 owners done this?

Is it only glued or srewed, nailed?

Any recommendations on how?

Thank You

Abo

Use a hammer drill with a wide chisel. Drive the chisel flat into the adhesive between the plywood panel with the attached teak and the fiberglass laminate. This may cause minor damage to the gelcoat, but it can be easily repaired. Care should only be taken at the edges of the teak panels to avoid damaging the surrounding gelcoat. New teak or a plastic teak replacement can then be applied.

Thank You Salt.
Do you know if there are nails or screws holding the old teak? Or only glue?

Usually there are no screws, but if you find one, you'll hear it loud and clear as you chisel.

Hi Abo , I m in the same process but with putting whole teak planks . I need a favour from you or other members , do you have rough dimensions of the area so I can order wood , I am far away from the boat

Hi Elías,

I understand you need the measurements of the triangle at the foredeck and the sides, correct?
