no not done it but it is my next project as i am totaly   pxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx off  having to lift the bedding each time you want to remove  something from under the bed why oh why did they not do it from new. i am going to make a one peice removable like the rear aft cabin access into the stern with two swing clips. i shall not make it huge just big enough to gain access.

I think to cut any sort of hole will need the bunk reinforced at the top inside, I have measured the bulkhead and its in the order of 20mm so OK, but when a hole is cut I can see it sagging.

Got to be some chippies out there, give us some input please

We have the modification on our 2004 Bav 36, performed by a previous owner. It is a single quite large opening, piano hinged at the bottom. Works really well for us.

I would add a pic if I knew how to from this iPad. Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

yep some photos would be good  but being 20mm ply i dont think you will get any sag, i was down at weekend checking mine out and i am planing an opening of approx 450 wide and 450 high just big enough to get some cockpit cushions stowed away and some bags etc

Just what I wanted, is it possible to take photos of the inside construction and any strengthening that has been put in. for the photos you can go through my email address on my web site, this will let you send good size files.

that looks a really smart job whoever did it.  looking at the grain lining up and overall finish could this have been a factory fitted job?
