The stripe on the deck of my 2007 Bavaria is fading fast. I have tried everything to bring it back too life. Has anyone painted it , if so what type of paint should I use ? Or are there other alternatives?
Thanks

Yngmar

There's vinyl decal tape. Although most likely yours is like mine (on a 2001 boat though): just severely oxidized, because the dark colour absorbs UV like crazy. So you have to cut it back or even wet sand it, and then polish it back up and protect it with a good UV wax.

I agree with Yngmar. We also have a 2006/7 Bavaria 37 which we bought in late 2015. While the hull was in fairly good condition the previous owner did not pay too much attention to the deck. The blue stripe was heavily oxidized. I wet sanded the stripes with 3M's soft pads (ultrafine (P800 to P 1200) and microfine (P1500 to P2200)) and than used a cutting compound with a polisher (also a product from 3M - I do not work there and do not have shares in 3M). It was definitely worth the efforts. The stripe looks and shines as good as new. From time to time the stripe will likely require some polishing and at least annualy waxing (but no sanding).

Another vote for the polish & wax method, a couple of times a year.
