The ST60 speed readout on my Bav 38 has failed, removing and spinning the wheel produces nothing
I'm sure that there is a break in the cable near the transducer ,Has anybody changed the unit ?.is it possible to just change the cable,? Does the transducer go direct to the instrument on the binnacle.
Incidentally  by selecting calibrate and speed on the instrument I was able to get a GPS speed read out, but of course the wind readout was incorrect.
Any advice appreciated

The cable goes direct to the display unit, and there is nothing special about the cable.

If it turns out the transducer is broken, you can find the OEM part number here.

Intrigued by what you say about GPS speed, what do you mean?

Thanks Nigel,Do you know if the cable is factory bonded on to the transducer ,? Regarding GPS read out ,press speed and depth together and cycle to speed calibrate by three pushes of the speed button and a GPS speed read out appears ,pressing reset corrects the speed readout ,of course only in still water conditions ,OK in the Med with no tides,I think Ive got it right  boat and manuals are in Spain

On my B38 with ST60 the speed is indicated right but I have wrong temp showing. It shows > 40 °C. Calibration is possible within the range of about 38 to 50 °C, while real water temp is about 20°C. I wonder if it is just a corroded contact on the rear of the instrument in the console. Does anybody have a table showing Ohms vs. Temp of the Thermistor in the transducer?

Hi , I am new to the forum as my speed and wind speed have failed together last Thursday on way back from West Country.  Transducers both turning very freely . Am speaking to our local Raymarine guy in Chichester who is excellent  so will pass on any findings after investigation and hopefully fix!!
