I'm fitting a diesel heater in the transom void on my Bavaria 30 Cruiser and the ideal position for good routing of ducts and exhaust sits the main heater unit about a foot under the inside of the gas locker.

Obviously heat sources and gas bottles don't mix so well but I've read that these bottles can take 400 degrees c...

I was thinking of wrapping the underside of the gas locker in reflective heat shield matting for good measure too.   Does anyone know of any specific guidance on this?  I've struggled to find anything categorical.

The heater won't get too hot, the gas bottle will be fine.

My heater is in much the same place in my B36(2002) where it was installed presumably by the boat distributor at that time, or at their request on behalf of the original purchaser. In the last eighteen years there have been no problems so far.
