Genoa halyard

I have always paid someone to take off and put back on my sails

I want to take down the foresail myself and I am unsure where the halyard for the foresail is

I think I have located it but just wanted to check the standard set up

It's the one labeled Genoa. It's also the one where if you open the clutch, the Genoa starts coming down! Should be pretty easy to work out

Depends on whether it goes back to the cockpit or is left at the mast. There is not a "standard" layout as the choice is left to the person who commissions the boat, but it usually comes out of the port side of the mast and is either made off to a cleat there or taken back to the cockpit. Usually then the clutch is labeled.

There were no labels anywhere relating to the lines

I think it is the line in the outside left bank of clutches in the cockpit as this leads to a clutch on the mast then goes into the mast ; when I pull it the furler drum pulls up

I was told this line was the outhaul

I just didn't want to do anything that risked loosening the forestay and consequently the mast

The halyard only pulls the sail up and holds it there. The forestay is completely independent of that and you won't risk the mast falling down by opening any of the rope clutches. You can just open each one and see what moves - they're meant to be adjustable!

If you have a Selden furler, when you will reinstall Genoa, read before Selden furler manual about free first furler turn, bakstay tension, prefeeder use.  For basic rig knoulage, is better you pay a rigger that come in boat for1 hour and explain you how to do basic operations.
