I have to change my damaged two bladed prop. The replacement has a black epoxy finish , should I apply a hard anti foul as on previous prop?

Whatever worked previously?

If you're asking about priming, a epoxy finish just needs a bit of (fine, so you don't wear through) sanding and should be suitable for just about any paint.

The Velox Plus we use stuck fine on either single pack aluminium etch primer, sanded epoxy or sanded gelcoat. It won't stick on naked aluminium though.

You can certainly antifoul it; some of the paint may wear off inevitably.  Use an alloy-friendly antifoul such as Trilux or Prop-o-drev.

Thanks for the replies, will carry on using Tri-lux

Here's a pic of my prop, painted with Trilux, immediately after lift-out and before pressure-washing.  The boat had been in the water for 2 years.
