morning all
I'm looking at fitting a new digital thermostat to the standard fridge, is it as simple as connecting the digital one to the pos and neg from the battery at the Danfoss controller pos and neg, then connecting the output to the C&T connections on the Danfoss unit instead of the original thermostat wires. then feeding the probe into the fridge and finding somewhere to put it?
I've read some of the previous topics from the search and ended up slightly confused.

also what is the favorite type of thermostat used, as most of the links are out of date and get a 404 error on amazon.
i was also looking for one with less than 7cm deep into the cupboard as there is already an unused "us" style socket i could take out and extend the hole but the depth behind it is only 7cm to the underside of the sink bowl
regards

Phil,
Did you manage to fit a digital thermostat?  I would be interested to see how it was done..

Wiring is as simple as you say, I used "piggy back" spades to get the power supply which is neat.

I got a "xy-wt01" which was sold as a controller for goldfish tanks etc, and came with the sensor.  Sensor wires are too short so needed lengthened (speaker cable).  If you buy a controller without a sensor I think you need to make sure they are compatibly calibrated.

MOUNTING.  The display is annoyingly bright with a blue colour, so I advise against a conspicuous place, especially if it shines into the cabin or saloon.  I mounted mine inside the cupboard under the sink. Open door to see it, but when shut the light is no problem.

Your US/EU plug is easily switched for a UK 13A style from a caravan shop.  I got one with the cover flap. Let me know if you can't find the place - I changed all mine for about 20 quid.

hi sorry for the delay replying I've been away, yes i fitted the digital thermostat. i got one from amazon for about £10, the sensor wire runs from inside the fridge through the original hole to controller, then i cut into the main feed for the unit using a 4 way 16 amp junction box i had available to supply power to the new controller and then sent the feed from the controller to the Danfoss unit to replace the thermostat wire from the original thermostat,
I then stuck the temperature probe inside the fridge box about half way up the side near the evaporator.
have set it to come on at 7 deg and off at 4 deg, works well and doesn't freeze the box or evaporator.
the type i used  was an stc1000 12v,
I've mounted it on a piece of ply attached to the inside of the cupboard near the compressor as i originally thought it may go into the American style socket hole that's already in the panel, but it wouldn't cover the diameter of the hole. And once its set then i don't need to see it anyway (i can see it every time i open the cupboard door to put things in the bin)

I've no pictures but if you need any i can get some in a couple of weeks when I'm next down there

I fitted "W3230 Mini Digital Temperature Controller".

It costs 1-2 USD on Aliexpress, so bought two just in case, but the fist one works perfectly for 2 years already.

Let me know if you need more info.
