Looking to replace the shower pump out switch on our 2009 40 cruiser. The std switch is a push button thingy that is uncomfortable for my wife to use. SVB sell the same ones. Any suggestions welcome.

I Changed it to an on/off switch (waterproof of course). Keeping it pressed during showering is not easy. That works great (and due to the noise, nobody forgets to turn it off afterwards...)

Many thanks for the tip.  I've not yet found an on-off switch of reasonable size that is rated the same as the OEM switch (30amp). Seems a bit high to me but apparently its to accommodate the surge when the pump starts.

You could fit a 30A relay (from motor factors) with just the signal wires to the on/off switch.

The pump is max 10A.. I replaced the switch as well with an on/ off switch, rated 220V and 15A. Even led light is working with 12V only and works well..

Happysailor,

Need to be careful about the voltage/amperage ratings for contacts. Surprisingly 12 VDC contacts need a higher duty than the 220VAC rated contacts. The AC contacts do not arc as much when opening (turning off) as there is a 0 volt crossing (Alternating current) which stops the arc. A DC contact does not have a 0 crossing and therefore the arc is harder to stop as it opens. The is the reason to over size the DC switch.
